Charity craft fair... And hello. It's been a while.

Charity Craft fair at work

Hello there.

It's been quite a while since I've posted, I'll admit. Lots of life things happening, but I have definitely been sewing all the while. I will be catching up with posts here in the next few weeks. If there's anyone still here I thank you for sticking around.

I also want to thank everyone who stopped by my table at the Merry Market charity craft fair we had at work a couple of weeks ago. I really appreciate your support and I'm happy that I could give money to Modest Needs, the charity we were supporting, at the same time. I sold 50 coffee sleeves in 3 hours and gave 10% of sales to the charity.

You guys are awesome! Thank you so much.

I spy a quilt

My mom's "I Spy" Quilt/Playmat

This cute little "I Spy" quilt was lovingly hand quilted by my mom, Darcia. Every square features a different novelty fabric with animals, objects, and other items so that little ones can pick them out in a game of "I Spy".

My mom usually makes these and other quilts for her charity organization, Amaranth, that primarily raises money for diabetes research. I will doing my part to help by posting this cute quilt in my etsy shop. All proceeds will go right back to Amaranth and Diabetes research, so please stop by and check it out.

There are lots of fun things to spy! We have care bears, ducks, clouds, babies, grapes, Eyeore, stars, worms, cowboy boots and hats, cherries, little girls, monkeys, ballerinas, smiley faces, fish, gingerbread men, teddy bears, cows, Curious George, alligators, lambs, cupcakes, pie, frogs, Sylvester the cat, light houses, turtles, bears playing golf, bunnies, puppies, kittens, chickens, crabs, the moon, Clifford the Big Red Dog, cars and traffic lights, apples, penguins, and bats.

Click on the photo below or here for a detailed close-up of the quilt blocks.

Project Peanut Butter

Hi everyone!

It's Sarah's birthday over at Sarahcentric and her one true wish is for you to help her do some fundraising for Project Peanut Butter. Project Peanut Butter produces and distributes a therapeutic peanut butter called Plumpy’nut to severely malnourished children in Malawi and Sierra Leone.

Sarah set up a safe and secure Chipin account and all money will go directly to Project Peanut Butter. Please go here and help out her and this amazing charity. She's trying to raise $1125, enough to save three villages! And as a bonus for your kindness, you will be entered in a giveaway for some delicious Graham Cracker Coffee.

For more info on Plumpy'nut and project Peanut Butter, please watch this informative video...

thanks,

Kim
