studio light box
Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 6:28PM I received an awesome birthday present in January - a studio light box! It pretty cool in that it's completely self contained and folds up into a carrying case with pockets for the lights and camera stand. It's also very handy because my apartment gets great light, but it's only a short window of time in the day that is optimal, early to late afternoon. So that means I was constricted to taking pictures only on the weekends because I work during the day. This system allows me to take pictures whenever I want.
I used to tack up white poster board during those daylight hours. This kit comes with a fabric background - one side blue and the other gray. The gray doesn't look bad, but I prefer the white, so I cut down the poster board to fit the box.
I've tried it out with some new coffee sleeves for the shop, but I'm still working out the kinks. Some dark fabrics seem to be very difficult to work with and I also need to figure out where to place the lights. Overall, I'm very excited to have it.
